The Aérospatiale Alouette II with type number SE.3130 (later SA.313B) from France is a light helicopter originally manufactured by Sud Aviation and later Aérospatiale. It was the first production helicopter to use a gas turbine instead of a conventional heavier piston engine. The type broke some records and was used by the military but also many civil operators. During operational use, it showed to be a very reliable helicopter that almost always just worked.

Alouette II Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu / Dutch Air Force)

This light transport and rescue-utility helicopter was used between 1959 and 1966 by the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

Note: this photographed helicopter at the Dutch Air Force museum (MLM) at Soesterberg is NOT the original "H-4", but a former Belgian (!) Alouette coded A-29. It has been modified with a wheel type undercarriage and re-painted as the "H-4" but with the wrong blue colour.
